is it true that you should not start to fertilize a beginning rose bush til the shoots are 6 inches long? I have three brand new ones, they are a week into the ground, is that true?

I always fertilize when I plant a Rose I use organic fertilizer doesnt have to be heavy as you dont want to burn them. Hope this helps. [wayey]

Yes JV, it helps a ton. I have no clue at what to do with roses. these are my first ever, so I will go out and get some tomorrow and start it straight away.
