Well I finally decided to pull up the aztec horned melon. It was taking over the dumpster, the potting table and the raised flower bed. So here I am pulling it way from everything and guess what. It had finally decided to flower. Talk about a long growing season. And the silly thing had put roots through the bottom of the pot and into the soil it was sitting on. Big roots too. No wonder it was so huge. But now it is in my compost pile. I'll have to take the lawn chair out their later and cut it up. That should take a couple of days. I'm glad to be rid of it. From what I read the melons weren't very edible anyway.
