I was wondering what the best method would be to propagate the babies from the spider plant. Is it better to snip them off and let them root in water first before planting, or should you plant the baby in soil while still attached to the main spider plant? I have had moderate success with rooting in water, but I would like to hear what has worked well for other people. Thanks.

Spider plants can be rooted in water however, you might experience a higher success rate to leave the babies on the parent plant until a healthy root system is established, then remove and pot directly.

I always just stick mine in water and they root real fast. Once the roots are about an inch it goes in a pot. They are real easy.
