I've had tons of beautiful butterflies on my butterfly bushes this week -
they just amaze me! I could watch them for hours...

Tons and tons of yellow tiger swallowtails, but they don't like to sit still long enough for me to take pictures.

Tonya, do like I do and cover your flowers with glue. They CAN'T leave then even if they want to.

Those are some beautiful butterflies and also some beautiful flowers, Lynne! [thumb] Good job and great pictures! [muggs] I can't get any good pictures of my butterflies because when I get too close they fly away. [Mad] You must have quite a good zoom lens on your camera. [Wink]

I DON'T do that! I just wait patiently for HOURS on end by a vacant flower for a butterfly to appear.

Yesterday I actually had a WHOLE afternoon off. I was like a kid at recess! No place I had to be, nothing scheduled, no one needing me for anything! So, I went to a pretty lake in our neighborhood that had a ton of "swamp" milkweed in bloom right next to the water's edge. It was just alive with butterflies. What a refreshing, peaceful way to spend an hour - watching them dance all over from plant to plant.

Oh Sandy, what a dream day! [Love] I guess it must be a lot cooler in Michigan than it is down here in Illinois. [Roll Eyes] Although we had some pretty decent days last week, so I can't complain. I've noticed a lot less butterflies on my bush when it's this hot, [Frown] but they were pleantiful when it was a little cooler. [Wink]

Yep - it was great. I didn't realize how badly I needed a break until I took one!! Today, though, it's just miserable hot. High 90s with stiffling humidity. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Those are gorgeous Lynne...

I have a couple of Monarchs here, they like to visit my Verbena Bonariensis plants..
*and the Milkweed right next to it*

I had two baby monarchs on them, and we were watchin' them, but I don't see them anymore..
so either a bird got'em [Eek!] or they grew up
real fast and I missed it all... [dunno] [Razz]

Thanks for those pretty pictures...
