Go for it, oui! Those links pretty well cover every thing the novice could possibly want to know. However, I found bonsai a real challenge without a mentor to provide on-time tips. After some trial and error effort I compromised by trying to sculpt trees and shrubbery around the house into Orient influenced forms.

My efforts on a seedling from a supermarket apple started about twenty years ago.
The object is to make a two-tiered cloudbank form.
