Well, a friend gave me a bag of "planting peanuts" and told me to "plant them deep" "as soon as possible". How deep is deep? [dunno] Also, I've heard that you don't have to really do much to peanut plants... just wait until the plants die, and dig 'em up? I'd appreciate any advice... this is something VERY new to me. THANKS!!! [Smile]

I tried growing them here once but it caused a major rift in the relation between myself and the local squirrel population, so I gave up trying to grow them rather than going through life with a loaded slingshot! [perplexed]

Hmm... I didn't think about the squirrels, Bill. But I have two of the most "barkingest" dogs around, so I should have no problem. [grin] [Big Grin]

Peanuts are also legumes and are great for your soil.

The secret is the soil.

I feed my squirrels to keep them away from my plants. And I keep a shallow pot saucer for their water.
The babies are cute right now, but boy they sure don't stay cute. Garden marauders is more like it.
I feed wild birdseed and old bananas and old bread.
It's only to protect my plants, and it works so I guess it works out for everyone.
