Chrysanthemum Care....need help

I don't really know about plant care but my boyfriend's dad got me a chrysanthemum for a gift. I re-potted it and I think it's dying. The top part of the plant is dried out but there are new flowers at the bottom. I don't know what I should do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

clip off the dead flowers. also, do not worry. they naturally die back for winter.
