Getting so close to the first frost [Eek!] (6), I am wondering is it better to transplant and divide in spring or fall [dunno] . Both have their advantages. We had such a warm fall that I was hesitant and now I am afraid it may be too late.

Our fall has been very warm as well out here in Cheesleand. It is still better to transplant now then in the spring.
Right now the plants stop their upward growth and the top of the plant will go into semi dormancy. This does not mean that the entire plant is asleep though. Now that no energy is being expended upwards the plant begins to send out more roots. When you transplant or divide, do not add any fertilizer, other then a little bit of potash or bonemeal.

Hope this helps [Smile]
