Terra cotta pots

I recently repotted a pothos plant in an unglazed terra cotta pot and watered very good to saturate the soil. I went to check on it yesterday and the outside of the pot is all "mildewey". Is this from overwatering or something. I tend to let my pothos dry out a bit between waterings, but this one seems to be retaining water quite well. None of my other pots are doing this. HELP!! [Confused]

it is not mildew, terra cotta is porous & allows minerals from the soil, water & impurities within the pot to pass thru when first used.

just wipe it away w/ a damp cloth.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

The pot is not new...does that make a difference?
