I'm in the planting zone of the Daytona Beach area. I have a young 3 foot high maple. I have it in a large plastic container which was doing real well last month with new growth but now the new growth leaves are drying up. Is this normal or too moist or needs fert?

Having same problem with newly planted Japanese Maple in the Fresno Ca. (9a) area. 1st tree in this spot of the same type lasted 25 years, 2nd tree with described new growth dying back problem lasted 6 months, 3rd. tree (this specimen ) 4 weeks. My local garden store does not want to see me again. Hope you get a doable answer.

Listening and waiting
