I have 4 healthy & huge Bridal wreath spirea shrubs. I would like to have more-they are so pretty & graceful in full bloom. Has anyone ever taken cuttings and started their own? I have done this with Althea shrubs, they grew for one season, but died because of cotton root rot. The Spirea doesn't seem to be effected by the cotton root rot. In fact nothing seems to bother it-except lack of water. Any suggestions on how to increase my spireas?

Propagation can be done by cuttings of green tip shoots in late spring and summer, or from seed.
