Lookin' great, Tina!
I was in Home Depot this afternoon and was tempted, but I don't have any more room indoors - I really can't wait to see how this all comes out for you in the end!

Tina - I planted 2 curly rushes (that's what my tag said but looks just like yours) last summer next to my bathtub pond - I loved them, and see that they are surviving our winter just fine so far! Need to get some more this year!

Enjoy yours too!

These are just the one's I've purchased in the last couple of weeks. Over the last year or so I've planted dozens around my yard.
Some have been nibbled to death. It's a learning process. I have to live with critters (outside) because I'm snug up against national forest land. So I'm seeing what they will or won't eat. Then there are lot's of things with thorns out there that I try to keep to a minimum. I love learning new things.

I love the pink varigated one, but they are all nice! Are most of these easy to start from cuttings?
I don't know very much about Succulent's but do have a very large collection of cactus and know about them.

Some succulents start easily from cuttings or even a single leaf or stem that falls on fertile ground. Some will only grow from offsets (babies that grow near the base) like the echevarias. But most gift you with lot's of babies.

Does the Pork and Beans sedum grow and spread like other sedums and how hardy is it?

* * * *
 -
 -
by jonni13 on February 15, 2006 11:05 AM
I'm not positive about the hardiness. It can grow in a zone the goes to freezing but I don't know about sustained freezing temps. The proper name is Sedum rubrotinctum.

I have never seen flowers so they might be inconspicuous. Those are in a window box planter hanging on a chain link fence. I think I would take them in if I lived in a colder zone, like donkeytail sedums. Only they are not quite as tender as donkey tails.

I received a trade and was told it was the Pork and Beans sedum it is hardy in my zone.

Tina beautiful pics. Love your gardens. I have had Crassula tetragona three times it grows beautiful in the summer and I kill it every winter inside. I liked it because it reminds me of a Christmas tree.

Pine tree jade is supposed to do really well inside. It's used in little bonsai type planters for the tree effects. I'm surprised. I don't know enough about over wintering indoors because I don't have to. And I don't know enough about zone hardiness outside of my own. And I also don't know enough about the 'net to look up all the info.
There, did I whine enough?

That was not a whine. I have to teach you how to whine LOL

I think we will make a good pair. I do the indoor all winter, outside in summer. I have researched most of the hardy succulents so I can help the snow bunnies. You can help us when we have the tender sucs outside.

Triss, it does look like a porcupiine but feels more like a hedgehog (softer).
Blushing beauty is in a gallon pot and it's time to find her a new home.
Everytime I see a black prince, I have to buy one. Is that sane?
