I am growing corn for the first time this year.... how does one know when it is ready to be picked?
Thank you anyone for your advise and experience.

Winston, harvest corn when the silks have turned brown and dry and the ear feels full.

exactly like terry said- just don't wait too long after you see the brown silks- it can get old and shriveled even on the stalk.

To check closely, open a cob and puncture a kernel. If the fluid is milky it's ready to pick. If it's watery, it aint quite there yet.
