Bf asked me yesterday if you can planbt a peach pit and how to do it. dry it out etc?? Anyone ever grow a peach or plum for that matter from a pit? I dont care about hybrids etc.

i did, a very long time ago, got one to sprout, but can't remember how i did it [dunno] i do know the real seed is inside the hard shell, and they need soaked some how.

One time, many years ago, I planted an acorn in a pot and forgot about it, in fact I put the pot in a closet.
Imagine my surprise months later to find a pale yellow little oak tree sprouting in the closet !
It was about 10 inches high too, and really cute.
It greened up in the sun and grew nicely.
