I'm trying to grow salsify this year. I've never grown it before, and have been unable to find any pictures of seedlings or young plants in Google. My problem is that I'm not sure if the 'plants' I'm growing are actually salsify, or just weeds? They do look quite similar to some other weeds in the garden, but I'm nurturing them anyway just in case. Would hate to find I'm allowing weeds to grow!!!!

Does anyone have pictures of what my seedlings should look like?

Do you have a picture of what they do look like?

The secret is the soil.

I think I've discovered that they are in fact weeds! I had a couple of seeds put in later than the rest, and these have just germinated, and look totally different to the rest! I guess it was just too cold for the original batch, so will be laying some more this weekend.

Thanks though.
