termites or ants??

I was moving some rocks yesterday and when I turned over a flat rock there were large brown/rust colored ant looking bugs. Some of them had wings. Please tell me they are ants and not termites. < biting my finger nails >

Back in October, I posed a similar question HERE. Take a look at the photos in the post. If that's what you have, then buglady told me they were ants. [grin]

I'm so glad that it helped you. I was really worried too last year. Buglady assured me they were ants, just before they mate & make a home. That kinda freaked me out.. I sure didn't want that much of an ant population at my house! LOL. There were literally thousands of these winged things last year, all at once!
