sorry to repost this but i have a question and need some of your guys input.

i've heard of people growing them vertically into the air on a fence or a support of some sort. . . has anyone tried this method and any input on it plz

Yes, we had a post going about this a while back. Right now I've got my cucumbers in tomato cages - hoping they will vine around. I will have to keep them picked regularly so they won't break the vine. I'm hoping it will keep my garden neater with things growing up and I won't have to constantly scream at the dogs.

I always grow them up wires or strings in the greenhouse.
this is the way they are made to grow!
just make sure you help the first tendrils grab someting strong to get going.
