Hi,

I'm trying to grow slips from a yellow onion that came from the grocery store. It has two separate crowns so far. If I continue to leave it in the ground will it continue to produce slips or is it pretty much done?

Hi,
If you keep it growing it will flower then go to seed. The seeds can be sown but you wont know what variety they are.It may be a hybred which can throw back to anything. If you do want to grow 'BIG' onions buy the good seeds. 17lb(seventeen) onions have been grown.
