Hi everyone,

A friend just gave me a couple of beautiful clippings but she has no idea what kind of plant it is. I don't have a camera so I can't show any pic's. It is a vine like plant with small green leaves, purple underneath and on the top of the leaves are 2 grey/silver stripes that almost look like glitter in the sun light. Any ideas? I am wondering what kind of care it needs.

Thanks,

Chae

[wayey] Hello, Chae! Welcome to the forum!

I am wondering if maybe your plant is a "Wandering Jew"? If it is, you will love it! It roots easy for me and it is a very easy care plant.

Hi Chae,
I think Dianna's got it!

Here's a picture of it from here...

Hi,

That's it! Thank you. It is such a nice looking plant I don't want to kill it. I hope it does root well and grows fast b/c I only have 2 little clippings so right now it looks a little bare.

Thanks,

They root really good in water..

After a bunch of weeks, take them
out and pot up in dirt...

**At each leaf node, roots will appear if
placed in water...***

Thanks Weezie,

I was thinking it looks a little funny with only 2 little clippings but I was nervous to just cut and root them.

Red wondering Jew crows wild here. Have to dig it up to make room for other plants. I have given a ton of it away. So now my sister in New Mexico has a bunch of it so wont be long they will be cussing me for taking it out there. It spreads like a weed.
But a flower is only a weed that someone liked and cultivated anyway right. [thumb]
