I have a small tree datura that I just brought in for the winter, and just noticed a very large amount of aphids on the plant that were not visible last week. How can I control them? I have segregated this plant from all my others so they won't spread, but need to eliminate them.

Insecticidal soap should work, even a good spray outdoors with the garden hose should send those bugs flying.
You'll probably need to do one, or both of these treatments more than once though to get them all.

They invaded a plant of mine this past summer and i too used the soap and after a couple of days, they were gone and i hosed off the basket then, and good as new!
