So the first thing I noticed when returning to the site is that there are 6 days 17 hours and 9 minutes before spring... Thanks for the countdowns, I love the countdowns, never get rid of them!
Anyways the outside air isn't as biting when I open the door at 6:30 in the morning, and up until yesterday it was fairly light too. And that too will catch up....
My mom called me yesterday to ask me if my iris' were showing any action. She had brought them to me from Michigan, she planted some in her gardens in Colorado. Through the convenience of cordless phones I 'took' mom outside and sure enough, there was new green!!! Wahooo!
So I'm stoked, this family of Iris' came all the way from Kent County Michigan and is showing signs of thriving in Whatcom County Washington.
So far...
Wish me luck! I'll post pictures when they bloom.
I also bought some gladioli bulbs, Mom grew those when I was a kid, I remember the digging...and the storing of bulbs, I'll be looking here for more information on that.
So spring will be here soon. That's good, I'm ready for it.
