I'm busy practicing my typing, can't wait to talk to everybody. Please be patient. As soon as I feel proficient on the keyboard I'll be back to start talking to everybody.
I've been gardening since I was 9 years old, that's a long time. I like the outdoors, nature, animals. I'd sooner be outdoors than in.
I've heard so many things about everyone on here from my daughter--everyone sounds so nice. Hi to Jiffy--I got to meet her last year at Laura's house.

Mom, I warned you that most of my friends here were a little
I'm so excited you're here and I'll help you, so you understand what you're doing! Or at least I'll help you when you aren't busy with your typing.
Mom's been typing for hours and hours a day so she can get good.
BTW, she's the best mom ever, and a cool mom! Lucky for me I don't have to edit what I say.

When I first saw your screen name, I thought of my grandmother - she was the matriarch of the family for a long long time! BUT... even more striking, is that her name was Faye!!! People called her Fanny more though I think - are you ever called that?
It's so good to have loz's mom here - she's such a wonderful part of the forums, and I'm sure you will be too!
(don't mind the others... someone must have let them out of their cages for a break! )

Hi Matriarch Faye! It is lovely to have you here with us, so WELCOME!!
loz is quite the lady, I have always thought. You must have done well by her all of her days because she is awfully young to have so much going for her! A beautiful thing about loz is that she is a Real Friend to all.
Again, welcome to the forum and I've very glad you are here.

Typing proficiency? Bah! I built this site and wrote over two thousand pages with my two fingered typing non-skill so trust me, nobody cares how well you type!

Hi everyone I'm back, I've been in the twilight zone on this computer, sometimes it makes me feel like a zombie. I get zoned out so easy trying to remember all the keys. I know my husband says I'm typing in my sleep, I hit his nose the other night thinking it was a key on the keyboard.
Thank you for the great replies. Laura's been helping me understand how everything works. I wish I had a computer years ago when I was a bit younger and my brain could take it all in.
I guess Laura told you it's snowing here, not much but our first real snow of the season.
I can't wait for spring so I can get out in my garden and get my hands in the soil and get everything planted. I grow a lot of roses, hostas, hollyhocks, clematis, sedum, lots of bulbs, and lots of annuals. Roses are my favorite though.
I love birds and I watch them every morning in the spring when I can sit outside. I like to watch the mother bird at her nest feeding her babies.
When I go home to England I always enjoy helping with the garden at my mum and dads. Last year we pruned the trees for them, weeded, and cut grass and anything to help out as my parents are getting on in age.
*Mum is dictating to me as I type and I just told her that she thinks she's writing a book!*
I'll end this post for now while I look at other parts of the forum.

{I like to watch the mother bird at her nest feeding her babies.}
I like that too. I have a video clip of an eagle feeding her young. Eagles are so big and such fearsome looking birds, yet she was so delicate and gentle on the nest and feeding her babies!!! I like to watch that video over and over. It is amazing!!!
Don't worry about your typing!!! Don't worry about caps, even!! Some of the typos can start a hilarious conversation!
We never laugh AT someone, well, not actually; but we laugh WITH one another, A LOT!!

Welcome Hi Hi. I am new to the forum and from Maryland too! We live 20 miles west of Baltimore, just off rt 70.
I am very into backyard birding myself. I spend way too much on food and feeders.
I wish I had a daughter teaching me the ropes here. I double wish I still had my mom to teach to use the internet. Cool!
I still lose threads left and right.
It feels like a Dr. Suess book - "Who took that thread? Who took it where? I looked for it and found it not. Who took that thread? Who took it where?"
oh, and no connection to the name Faye for me, except that it's a great name
