Thanks for the heads-up about this! I watch the Forum more than the news!! I love to watch happenings in the sky! Hope it doesn't cloud up here.

Well needless to say, when this was all happening over there it was the middle of the afternoon here & we were all out pruning roses & playing in the dirt!
We have a clear sky here though. It's 56* outside right now, & the moon doesn't look like it was bothered at all!
Darn, I wanted Keith to set up the telescope so I could take a pic of the full moon through it, but he's watching boxing & doesn't want to! (And I don't know how to work the lenses & the focus thingies... cuz he never lets me play with HIS toys!)
This was towards the end of the eclipse. Now it's over and the moon is very hazy.
Ah, then I did see it - that's what it looked like when the clouds moved enough to get a glimpse of the moon. I saw the tail end of it, I guess. When I saw the little piece cut out of it, I thought it was just the clouds.
Yes, the moon was very hazy.

Wowie, what an awesome picture, Hadeda!!! Thanks so much for sharing it. I couldn't see much of it here because of the clouds, but your picture made up for it.

We had a meteor - there was about 60 seconds on the news - a video somebody got - it was visible from the highways around Toronto.
Then, ya' know what? Not one other word of it! Not even on the weather channel.
It didn't actually hit us, but it veered in over some houses, from what one witness said - it was breaking up as it went, so I don't think there's any evidence of it.
But it's kinda' funny there weren't any more reports on it - you'd think the astronomers would have been on the tube blathering about it.
Maybe it was hushed up till they know more about it.
It was a complete surprise to everybody - nobody even knew it was out there.
