Hi everyone, I am Lin and I am in Niceville, FL. We are really in lower Alabama, thus some people call this area LA. It's beautiful here, very near Destin, one of the tourist hotspots in the country right now. The beaches are so gorgious you have to see them to believe. We are retired military and have only been in the US (darn!). I love gardening and birds. I love to take photos of flowers in my yard but mostly birds. I am always trying new things in the yard. I probably plant and take up and transplant more than anyone you know. I never seem to be satisfied. Really into perennials but when spring comes I am not patient enough and jump into some annuals for instant color. Live on a small lake so I can try some other fun stuff like swamp sunflowers (didn't work but it was fun the first year). Oh well, I am certainly not a master gardener but I have been at it long enough and read a lot so I get better all the time.
I love this site, this place looks like a place I can really learn a lot. Thanks for having me.

Hi there Momma D and welcome to the Forum. Living on a lake must give you all kinds of possibilities. What is your favorite flower?

Hi Triss, my favorite flower is probably a dalhia but it's real hard to grow here, I have had some luck, other than that probably clematis. Thanks for writing.
