Hello everyone, my name is Nae'. I'm a newlywed & a 1st time home owner & new to gardening. The house we bought has sooooo many flowers & shrubbery popping up all over the yard. It's amazing but I have no idea what most of them are. Friends have loaned me books to identify some of them so that helps. My question to you is that I would love to have some plants indoors but don't know what kind to get. I was told to keep them low maintainence. We do have 2 small dogs who will "piddle" on potted plants that are on the floor, and 2 cats who may munch on plants that are within their reach. So, basically what I'm looking for would be hanging plants and those that could sit atop high cabinets. I really want to put one in the bathroom & have been told a Boston fern. My goodness, I guess ANY & ALL suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dodge, I'm from the southern part of Iowa. Born & raised. We drove through Penn. on our way to New Jersey a few times. Never got a chance to stop & look around. Thanks for the info on the Philodendron vine, I will take a look.

Welcome!! You will learn SOOOO much here! I agree- Philodendron is good as are Spider plants. They are fairly low maintenance and pretty hardy! Congrats and good luck!
