Just joined a few weeks ago after lurking and read some posts. I have been gardening for about 50 years. Mostly in sandy soil. And always in an area with the hot strong SW winds in the summer. I grow mainly vegetables. Lots of tomatoes. And have always used manure from our livestock to fertilize with. Horse and cow for tomatoes and chicken for corn. I've learned from failures and successes and would love to share information with others. Best of luck gardening in 06
