I saw the weather today and it looks like a big cold front is headed to the midwest. Are you expecting snow there?

I do flowers and veggies and children [Big Grin] No pond here but my FIL has a very small one that I am hoping to do a little planting in this summer. I am in Central Washington, along I-5 so we are pretty well into spring this year with a few cold nights thrown in for good measure.

Weezie, i think your a bit behind triss and i on the kids..for real..i'll give them to you at fair market value..i mean i'm thinking just a couple bills and they're all yours. The only one i won't sell is my genious of a son, of course, i know what your thinking..he got his brains from his mother. And i agree, but i figure he'll be taking care of me when i am old and crippled..so i'll keep that one around. But that should give me like 800 dollars after they are all gone, plus the money to feed them, and cloth them and buy them more crap to take up my yard ..so..which one do you want? I'm finding out about how to build a new pond for pretty cheap...i have 2 already..and i want a huge one..around this pretty little tree i have..and my husband priced the liner..and he said..umm baby..have you seen the prices on this stuff..i said and i'm not worth it..as he is looking at a new guitar for 1500.00..so when he told me the guitar price the other day..i said..and you were complaining about WHAT? duh duh duh

Yeah, well my hubby just called (i guess to scare me and let me know he will be there at work for at least another 5 hours. and to not be mad that he no longer has his clothes..they took them AGAIN - he again got nuclear waste on him and they won't give them back errrr) So i told him about this liner idea i got from this lady on this one website..it seems a bit cheap, but i think it might work..so he said, alright i'll start that right after i finish the basement..i said baby..the kids can wait dang it..i found someone on line to take the little monsters....no need for working on the basement..lets get going on the pond..he seemed a bit excited as well..now weezie, what's your address again? I'll ship em UPS..sounds like you got enough stuff to keep them occupied..you'll never even notice they are there...

Actually, you are probably right, my house here is like a kid magnet...
I can't get them to stop comin' here, no matter
howwwwww many times I'm cranky at them...

I get after them about wearin' helmets, *we have a law here, up to 16 has to wear them..* and some moms' let them out at sun up, no helmet, nothing and they don't have to be home until dusk, *I AM NOT KIDDING EITHER*, so, when they are here, ther'es a bunch of rules.. and they actually stick around... [Roll Eyes] I am going to have to work on my meanie routine...

Plus there's a house next door has 4 kids too...
and they are always out.. it's a mad house around here I tell you.... [Wink] [Big Grin] [nutz]

I did have the upstairs kid here over Easter vacation too, and I put him to work, plantin' peas in the garden... he actually thought that was cool..
And put him to work, picking up branches from the fallen trees, then went and got a load of wood scrap's from the truss yard, then made him stack it, then they had to rack up left over leaves from fall last year to put in the compost pile....
**I am sooooo suprised that child still wants to come out and visit his Auntie... [Wink] **

Anyways, get that pond going..
I can not wait to hear all about it....

Hehehe..as i'm sure you can tell i enjoy being at work..although i do nothing here and can get quite boring and annoying...i would rather be here then there..right? Sounds like your house is a bit of a zoo as well..weezie, do you have a pond? i'm just kinda scared about this thing this lady says to use..it's call a silo cap..have ya ever heard of such a thing? then she says for an underlayment..use old carpeting from like lowe's..they'll give you someones old carpeting...hmmm i'm thinking this would be REAL cheap...what do you think? or anyone else who has an opinion on this matter..i'm up for it..i just don't want to spend so much money on that dang liner..i mean 400.00 for the size i need..get real..it's going to hold fish crap..ya know?

Hahahahaha...i would put the kids to work..and make sure you let them know the benefits of having to do this work as well..they seem much more productive when you make it sound to there benefit..hehe..or threaten bodily harm..that seems to work with mine..hehe..Like our old 2..they don't like to do anything around the house or yard..so last year hubby and i decided it would be there job to clean up the dog crap..so of course, they were pissed off..so i kindly explained to them the benefit of cleaning it out of the yard..if they were running through the yard, walking or what have you..and you slipped and fell in it..that would be really nasty if you landed face down..or if one of the little ones did how i'm not thinking they would be complaining about cleaning it up instead of scrubbing the bottom of there shoes..soon..our yard was kept clean everyday...a couple times of them cleaning off the bottom of the others & there shoes..they decided it would be much easier the way i explained..HAHAHAHAHA..really this works on alot of things..you should all give it a shot..like with laundry...screw up there laundry 1 time..and then explain the benefits of you not doing their laundry any longer..good luck...

Mine don't hardly ever get any money...

But we do let them know that when we have
Family Movie Night and Pizza/Subs/Fingers,
something to eat and some popcorn and a piece of
candy, that that's where our money goes instead of giving them some $$....
And they do understand...
My mom gives them a wee~bit of $$ here and there, but it's like a .25 or .50 cents and such..
*(most of the time she "barters'" with them...)
they do some wood for her, they get a ride in Gramma's golfcart...*they have a blast*
So, we don't have alot of $$ to give them..

But they are expected to work, and I do tell them, that they need to learn a work ethic before they get out into the wild world, or they'll be in a world of shock when it hits them in the face and they aren't prepared for it..

And don't get me wrong, I don't have that much work for them to do around here..
When I was growing up, there was a work load for 6 people and could have used more...
And play time was scarce...

I do believe in a child's childhood,
a time to play, and have memories, and be a kid..
They've got time to be all grown up, when they get there...

I hear that..although growing up, i grew up with parents that were very well off..so i was a bit spoiled..but despite that..i grew up knowing and earning my money..so i do appreciate the things i have..but i figure if i have to work for my money..i should allow my children to earn money as well...my 2 middle ones..love doing laundry..and for doing so..they get to keep the change found in our pockets (only the change..no dollars) works for me..sometimes i purposelly leave money in there for them..hehe..but it takes alot to make a household of 7 work..ya know..lots of things to be done..obviously...today is suppose to be 63..you were right about it warming up a bit..cant wait for the weekend..

I am like Weezie, and the kids do not often get money, especially the lil ones, cuz we just do not have it to spare. Lys found oodles of change all over the house a couple of weeks ago and we let her keep it. She did me proud when we went to the store and she spent her money on herself AND her brothers! Things like that let me know I must be doing something right!

I agree with you there..sometimes i just take 1 to the store with me..or 2..and if they come with me..usually they get a little something (pop, or a candy bar) while we are out..if they are good..which they all are pretty much now that they are older..and the other ones..don't care nothing about the rest..by my boy..he will not get anything..unless it can be shared with the others(gum) or i get something for all of them..very sweet like that..i don't recall dropping that one on his head as many times..could be what i did right..hehehehe..
