Greetings Everyone,

This is my first time ever joining a site like this!! I have been wanting to landscape my back yard though I have not jumped in to it yet. I also run a community center in a low income neighborhood. Here's my NEED FOR HELP!! I have 3 big questions. The center will have our 1 year anniversary and due to a 0 budget for "beauty" I am buying flowers for planters. WHAT type of flowers and soil should I buy??? We live in the southeast where it is VERY HOT and HUMID!! Also, I was given a I think it is a "fur plant" looks like a mini Christmas tree, HOW DO I CARE FOR IT?? I will wait until next time to ask for help for my own yard!!! THANKS everyone!!!

What an angel!! [angel] there are sooo many people here that can help you I can't help you with the 'Fur tree' however there are many here who can I promise you that as well as answer your need of heat tolerant plants at the top of the home page is "plant guide" it will also guide you along.. there is a couple of people here from your region of SE TX that are well versed on plantings for your area and it won't be long now before they answer.. also if you check plants and flowers and scroll thu the post you may find some answers... I have learned a lot just from doing that! [thumb] [flower]
The people here are great and eager to help

welcome and the only thing i can ask is
"is this plant a fir tree"
perhaps the pronounciation makes you think it is a fur?
i have a big fir tree in my front yatrd but i dont know athing about its care
i just clean up after it and water it when i think about it
maybe google up fir and see what it says?
