Welcome, Mike! I am The Bird Man here, or as my friends in Germany call me, Der Vogelmann. I just bought 2 new hummingbird feeders this week. My old ones literally exploded in my hands last Summer, LOL. I may try planting Salvia this year and a sure-fire plant is a wild plant called Jewelweed which brings in hummers by the HUNDREDS, but Jewelweed only grows in swampy, Marshy areas like creek banks, gravel bars, and bogs. Hope to hear more from you.

Welcome to the Forum! I'm pretty new here too and I guess we're almost like neighbors because I just live across the river. I used to get all my plants at Bayer's on Hampton Avenue, but with gas prices the way they are now, I'm not sure it's worth the number of trips I used to make. So, I may have to get some of my things over here this year.
Anyway, it's nice to find someone here who knows all the joys and sorrows of gardening in Missouri and Illinois. You're really going to enjoy the forums here and you'll find everyone is helpful and friendly.
Have a blooming BEAUTIFUL day!
