Found this site through google search. I am a new member here but not new to gardening. I had a 40 acre horse farm that I did most of my gardening on five acres from virginia blue bells to Hybrid roses. I have had alot of different varieties of plants, annuals and perinnials. I love gardening and new to florida I feel lost. Much different soil, light and rain fall. I am amazed though at all the different things that grow here..such as orchids and gardenias..outside in the garden they grow like weeds! Im having trouble with a lily I bought potted from Home Depot..it seems to not be happy. The base of the stems are rotting. It is in a plastic terra cotta pot with potting mix. It has holes in the bottom for drainage and I water it once a week. The soil is medium moist..but not too. The sunlight is about 6 hours per day. I believe it is a calla lily but it is pink and looks a bit different then the white ones. Any advice about growing this lily would be appreciated.
Thanks for the welcome....Rein
