Schools out for summer! (That sounds like it would be a good Alice Cooper song!)
Unfortunately, Rachel has to work 2 more weeks until she gets out. So...CindyGranny gets to babysit for 2 weeks.
First of all, I stayed up until 2:30 this morning...bad idea. And, I might have had a little too much to drink last night... ...another bad idea. So...I wasn't feeling too great when Brennan arrived this morning at 7am wearing a Superman costume.
He begged me all morning to take him to ToysRus. I said no way...the closest ToysRus is about 100 miles from here. He said "I haven't been to that store in 10 years!" (He's 6 years old.) He packed his backpack up with several movies, candy, 2 Pepsi's...and said he was ready just in case I changed my mind! (Not gonna happen.)
So...I took him to Wal-Mart, and told him he could get whatever he wanted. He got a Super Soaker with a backpack that is filled with water, and some Hot Wheels.
Updates will follow...if I last 2 weeks!

You make me so glad that Teddy is, well, Teddy. I've been where you are and do not envie you right now. You think you're in good shape from the gardening then "WHAM", you remember how old you are.

That's adorable Cindy!! I had to read that post out loud to my boyfriend. We both had a good laugh, followed by an "awwww....". He's adorable. I love how he said, "I haven't been to that store in 10 years!" Too cute!!
My nieces moved away just after Christmas...'bout 700 miles from me. I miss them so so so much..I love to hear kids stories and see pics. Thanks so much for sharing that!

I told Loz today that I would be at least 130 years old 2 weeks from now! Brennan has a way of talking me into doing things I know I shouldn't do...like roll down the big hill in a cardboard box, do tricks on a skateboard...
I'm always sore after he leaves...but smiling!

I'm predicting that yes, yes you will survive--with a lot of Beam thrown in there for good measure.

How cute "10 Years" OH to be a kid again,, I could have NEVER got my granmother to roll down a hill in a cardboard box,,!! The memories and stories he'll have to tell having you for his Granma! He's a lucky little guy!
You WILL survive , with Mr Ben-gay, Icyhot, and a heating pad, and a handsome little boy, I imagine believes you are his best pal!

Laughing here. Cindy, you will survive but the key is after he leaves pour a nice strong Beam and Pepsi, plus a shot of Beam on the side for good measure, unles you have hornitos of course, cuz that is better. Run a hot bath, down the shot and then relax in the hot tub while you sip the other drink. If you do that every night you will be able to move come morning!
Cannot wait to hear more about the next 2 weeks!

Lucky you to have the grand with you! I have had my 2 with me this week. They go home on Friday. So far no rolling down hills but I have played Barbies and given my 2 year old granddaughter a manicure (she went with me to get my manicure and picked out a lovely shade of pink polish for me to wear for the next 2 weeks). My 6 year old grandson wants to ride horses so that looks to be today's plan. Should be fun!! I haven't rode since last year so this oughta be hard on the ol posterior!! Oh well can always recover after the little childs go home!!

OK...I have survived another day...just barely.
Yesterday Brennan tried to get me to roll down the hill in a big box...I didn't do it, because I learned my lesson on that one last year. He begged again today, but I told him I'd do anything else BUT roll down the hill in a box. So, I had to slide down this slide... ...and ride this tiny bicycle...
I guess you would have much rather seen pictures of ME on the slide and bicycle! Not gonna happen!

Friday afternoon Brennan put the "Grow A Guardian Angel" that G-Mom sent me into a glass of water. It was an inch tall...a tiny little thing. We marked the glass with a magic marker at the height of the angel. I sat it on top of the refrigerator and checked it last night... Holy Koogamooga! ! ! I was poking it's head out of the top of the glass! (The red mark on the glass is how tall it was when he put it in.)
So...I transferred it to a larger glass...almost 7" tall. Here she is so far...
Brennan is going to freak when he sees this in the morning!

G-Mom...the "Frog Prince" only got about 3 1/2 inches tall...so I wasn't expecting the angel to get this big! This morning she's sticking her head out of this glass!
Rachel just called...her car won't start. (...and, no, I didn't sneak over there in the middle of the night and unhook her battery cables!)

I might... Rachel was looking at it as an opportunity to not go to work today, but was kinda ticked off because on the way to the car this morning she shocked the pool, so if she stays home they won't be able to get in it today. And, Brennan is threatening to ride his scooter over here.

Sounds like he is going to have the best time, WAIT let me rephrase that, You two are going to have the best time, and playing with Grammy Cindy is somthing he will remember forever!!!!
Stuff to try to keep him in one spot for a few minutes at a time! You know those big fuzzy posters that you color with markers? I got him some of those, and some gardening stuff.
It's a good thing Rachel got her car started. He already had his "Gator" out and had filled the bed of it with toys, and said he was driving over here.

Ya know if it gets really bad, you can put him online and he and Athena can have a chat. Just have Loz put her online also!

Loz, My kiddos also love the Nick Jr. site. I am lucky that they have all figured it out pretty well for themselves. Our house rule is you cannot use the computer until you are 3 so by the time they get there, they have watched the others and can get the hang of it quick.

OK...another day under my belt. Brennan just left, and I am cleaning his and Lola's messes up so I can go hop in the shower.
Brennan brought his breakfast this morning from McDonald's, and Lola stole half of his hashbrowns...so he made banana nut muffins for both of them.
He ended up eating half the muffin mix raw.
We rescued the vacuum cleaner this afternoon from it's resting place in the back yard (Yes, I threw it off the deck again) and I took it apart to try to dry it out before I plug it in. (It kinda got rained on while it was out there.) So, I gotta go get all the pieces together, if Freckles hasn't carried them off, and get this place vacuumed.

Oh Cindy, I think next time you should just toss the vacuum in the closet. Will be easier to retrieve next time you need to use it.
They are really cute to watch on the computer Loz, mine sing to all the songs.

See, afgrey? The strong survive. Even if they do occasionally toss the vac off the deck or whathaveyou; they survive. AND the kids live to tell about another great time they had baking muffins and eatin' dough and whoknowswhatall.
Way to go, my friend, way to go.
Hey, did he like the fuzzy posters? Maxi always enjoyed those.
