What a delightful thing to wake up to. [Frown]

My cat has this thing with knocking items off tables, shelves, etc. while I'm sleeping. Well last night, he apparently knocked over a blueberry scented candle jar that I burn often so of course the jar was filthy of soot.
Well, obviously my rabbit must have liked the smell and tried to get into it. My rabbit is suppose to be white!! I think my rabbit will be experiencing his first bath ever today!

It took me a while to figure out what the heck happened to him. He greeted me his usual way when I got up as if nothing happened...and I just thought..."what the H@!!???" He's been grooming himself all morning but it's not getting him anywhere.
Apparently Dawn dish detergent is suppose to be safe on animals.....it's used to clean animals after an oil spill???? I don't know how I'm gonna' hold him and wash him at the same time..might have to recruit some help!!!
I swear all my animals are like kids...something new everyday.

Try wrapping him snugly in a towel, just leave his head sticking out. He won't like it much but you will have an easier time of cleaning him [thumb]

That's too cute - maybe if you just left him you could start trend. I would think the Dawn would hurt his eyes if it got into them. Maybe Johnson baby shampoo would be safer - I have to use it on my own eyes (don't ask) and it really doesn't hurt at all.

have you tried baby wipes? Those things are miracle workers! I use them to get stains out of the carpet. If they are safe for babies, I would think they would be ok to wipe the fur of the bunny.

Christina, That does not sound like a fun project of trying to clean the bunny. If basic soap is not working, then maybe just let it go until it works itself out. Save you and the bunny lots of stress.

I'm thinkin' that's exactly what I'm going to do Triss. It doesn't seem to be bothering him and everytime I look at him, I laugh..and laughing is always good!!! [thumb]
I just find it so funny that he has no idea why we're looking at him funny...if he only knew?! [Big Grin]

OH!! That's funny. That looks like my cat after he got out last night! He was gone for hours and I was so worried - when I finally found him I was so happy but I could hardly hold him 'cause he stunk!

His whole front body was BLACK. And he's white too! His punishment was a kitty bath [scaredy] I think that dishsoap is OK but won't it sry out your bunny's skin? I use a puppy shampoo that I buy at the grocery store. It makes him sooooo soft afterwards.
