Mz Fernie...I know we ahve to do things that we don't like/want sometimes...I understand why you can't be on the computer as you use to...but MAN ~O MAN am I EVER missing your perky self!!!!
You know that sometime the insomnia group hangs out pretty late around here so if you get a chance to pop in PLEASE do..I missed it when you were here the other day...
AND...better yet, if you can figure out a kind of routine time that you can be on...like a specific day/time...let us know so we can plan around it and be here when you CAN be here...yep, you are that important to us!!!!
So, I'm sending a weeks worth of hugs to ya from me & the P~Nut...

I just had a nice long cozy chat with Fernie over the phone!
She has a lovely, very kind and gentle speaking voice that is fraught with fun just bubbling under the surface. I could listen to her speak for hours, entranced.
A very SMART lady, too and ohmy, did I ever enjoy that visit!
And yes, she is STILL PAINTING!

actaully Trissy I painted the whole inside of the house except for the spare bedroom and the stairway/upstairs hall before we moved in. I finished up the kitchen a year ago and have just been putting off all the ceilings in the rest of the house. So I am just doing all the ceilings finally and that hall and stairway. Otherwise you probably have already seen the color of my house....here is part of the living room...
the stairway and hall is going to be this same yellow ochre color (called emporer's gold) with cream ceilings and woodwork.
I have been sitting here reading a bit and drinking a cup of my earlgrey and lavender tea. The tea is nearly gone so I am going to go take a shower and wash the paint off. My hubby is over in Oregon and suppose to call soon. Then it is off to basketball games out of town. My daughter plays. Hopefully I will be able to get back on here about 9:30 pacific time tonight.
later......

Fernie...I have never seen pics of your house...that is exactly the colors of our "other" house that I redid (and left) And the Kitchen & dining area were elemental red!!! I love the warmness of it and am considering doing the new house in the same colors...
Glad to see you checking in you really have been missed can you tell?
Have fun at the game!!!!

I love the red but there are problems with red paint. You need to put down a tinted primer first or you do what I did. That is 4 coats of red paint and I still need to put more on. I can still see some roller marks in it. Bright red paint can be a lot of work!! But it sure ends up gorgeous!!! It has so been worth it for me.

Oh glad to know that, mine will be on unpainted and nothing on the wood, so I am sure it will just soak the paint up, So primer would be an excellent idea. Thanks for the tip!!!!
