I have to admit, I love Halloween! I become a big kid all over again. Anyone want to share any traditions or know of any interesting websites...etc. they'd like to share? I've been looking at a few pumpkin carving templates on the internet that I'd like to carve & have come across some useful websites for this and decorating your house.
This year I am putting a graveyard up on my front lawn. I will take pictures if all goes according to plan. Speaking of which, maybe we can share some of our kids Halloween costumes (pictures or explaining...) or even our own costumes!...

Here's Brennan on Halloween last year...DRACULA!
This year he is going as Darth Vader. He has the coolest mask...it even has a thing that alters his voice to make it sound like Darth Vader. I put it on all the time and say "Luke, it is true! I am your father!"

Too cute Cindy! That mask though for this year sounds really cool. I remember when I was a kid I used the bedsheet to be a ghost! The costumes they have these days eh?!
I'll be back in a minute, I have to add a couple of pictures from an email I just got- too cute...

Ok so these were all too funny to me. I will post the rest in the Critter Forum if you'd like to see more since they would belong there. But I couldn't resist:
Has anyone done this to their animals?

Brennan is just adorable!!! We like Halloween here as well. Only one kiddo has decided on a costume for sure and that is Zack. He wants to be a werewolf. I should ahve costumes for the 2 youngest from last year which is nice and Lys is talking about being a mummy. This will be our first year trick or treating in this neighborhood so we are looking forward to it.
Going to carve pumpkins this weekend. We have 6 so far!

Patrick went to a Halloween Dance at school last night. He dressed as Darth Mal from Star Wars.
This is a pic of him and I. Notice he is TALLER than me now.
He and Brandon playing with their light sabers outside.
And at the dance, the boys idea of dancing.
Patrick had a great time at the dance and was actually out on the dance floor and even danced slow dances with 5 different girls.
I had a blast chatting with the other moms there.

Great pics, Triss! Thanks for sharing!!! ******************
I like halloween myself, it's always fun, always so many costume choices!!!
If I go trick-or-treating with my friends at all this year, I'll be dressed as a bowler, in my bowling shirt, because I have a very important match that day ...maybe I can use the bowling bag (without the bowling ball) to hold candy or something!

It was a lil warm in the gym. Most of the guys did not "dress" up much. But they all still had fun.
Thank for the hair comment Lynne. I actually curled it a little which only took a few minutes with all the hair I got cut off.
Oh it was so funny Lynne. There was one girl that was making sure Patrick danced. She kept setting him up with girls to dance with. She however, never danced with anyone.

WOO HOO!!!! I, too, LOVE Halloween. I decided to carve a pumpkin this year. I looked at patterns, thought about creating my own, but then decided not to be overly ambitious. So I picked up one of those SpookMaster carving tool kits, got a nice pumpkin and yesterday, I carved it up. I think it came out pretty darned good for my first non traditional carving attempt.

I just love those witches!!! Is that a peanut butter cup making up the hat? And are you using colored coconut for the hair?

Thank you, Triss, they were a big hit with the gang.
You're right, the heads are marshmallows and the "hair" is shredded coconut that I dyed with food coloring. I used half of an Oreo to make the hat brims, a bite-sized peanut butter cup and a chocolate kiss for the peak. The green hatband is icing, and everything is "glued' together with more icing.

So my camera died before we could take any pictures of the outside. It was around 6:00pm too so it was too late to get new batteries because the kids were starting to come around already. Always happens like that eh?!
