Hi, I am a gardening addict! I worked part-time at a greenhouse the last 2 springs, and wish I could live there. I live in the southwestern corner of North Dakota; we're in zone 4, but awfully close to 3.
Our area of the state is quite dry. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about native plants, since those survive the weather better.
I also love animals; well except the chipmunk who digs up my thyme!! I have 5 rabbits who live in the house, and 3 parakeets.
I found this site by Googling information on caring for potted lilies; I posted a question about it under the container gardening forum.
Welcome to the forum! It's so nice to meet you and I hope to be seeing you around on some of the forums!
Have a beautiful day!

Wow, thanks all!! That sure is a friendly welcome.
I use our local library for gardening info sometimes, but there's no substitute for live people.
Penny in Ontario, my family lives in Buffalo N.Y. What zone are you in? The gardener part of me is sorry I left Buffalo, I had more options. In western North Dakota, there is nothing to stop all the wind!
I got my gardening start from my grandmother, who let me follow her around the yard as she did gardening chores and gave me my first garden plot. I still remember the blue morning glories I grew there.
Buffalo sure has it's weather changes, that is for sure.. I't cool and cloudy and kinda blah... *hence being indoors*
Glad you found us... Hope you'll stick around.. There's sooo much to do here, crafts, recipes, hobbies, and we're here thru every season... Especially those long cold, blustery winters..
