In one bowl:

2 cups Elmer's Glue-All
1 1/2 cups water

A NOTE ABOUT ADDING COLOR!
If you want to use food coloring, you must add it to the water BEFORE you reach the 1 1/2 cup limit of water. A half-bottle of food coloring will produce a medium shade

In second bowl:

Mix 1 cup HOT water
3 teaspoons Borax

Stir until Borax dissolves

Pour Borax solution into the glue mixture. Stir. When it clumps on your spoon, it is ready to be kneaded. It will initially be "wet" as you knead it, then will become "dry" Flubber.

[Big Grin] You don't know what FLUBBER is? [Big Grin]
Didn't you ever see The Absent Minded Professor? (with Fred MacMurray)
How about The Nutty Professor? (with Eddie Murphy)

Flubber is somewhere between Silly Putty and a Super Ball (or a cross of the two?)... [perplexed]

Am I correct Merme? [dunno]

[teacher] Its a glob of glop that you can roll in a ball and bounce, or flatten out and press onto a pix in a comic book to create a pix on the Flubber...
It's a kids toy that usually ends up sitting on a shelf and turning to goo, or it gets stepped on and is permanently smooshed into the carpet... [perplexed]

There is no practical use for Flubber unless you have the REAL stuff... in which case you can modify your car so that it can fly, or make super high jumping basketball shoes with it! [grin]

Merme - I made this last night with my little people (6 & 7's) it was a huge hit. Even the adult leaders were saying it was the coolest thing ever. I didn't have time (and didn't want the mess) to stir in a bowl so I dumped it all together in a gallon size zip lock bag, squeezed the air out, double bagged and everyone took turns kneading it. It came out great and was a good group project.
