Hello All...

I am new to this board and new to gardening. My husband and I are newlyweds and purchased our first home in August. The previous owners didn't really work on creating gardens/landscaping...I have quite the project ahead of me.

I need any advice you can give me on preparing soil. There are designated garden areas in my yard, but I am not sure how to make them ready. I am trying to clean out the beds...get rid of the weeds and weird growth. This morning I discovered something new and I have no idea what it is. It is a bulb (looks like an onion) that has thick leaves growing up with some sort of bloom in the center that looks like an asparagus right now. They are 4-6 inches tall...I took them out this morning and was wondering if I should replant it?

HELP? So glad to be here!

Darby
