I saw in your compost section that pet feces is frowned at in the compost pile. If I'm bagging the grass clippings from the yard in the dogs area should I not put that in the pile? If not why?
Thanks for your time. :

I don't think that it would really make that much of a difference. After going thru the lawn mower, it is going to be quite chewed up, and pretty well mixed into the clippings. I believe that was included in the things not to mulch, because of its high content of nitrogen. If you were to get a clump of that in your garden it may over fertilize the local area surrounding it, and burn out any plants. The good thing about dog feces is it breaks down quite rapidly. If you are running 2 compost piles, one currently being made and one older that you are using. It should not make much of a difference. Just don't forget to keep turning the piles, that will ensure that everything is mixed well.

I agree with Mike. It wouldn't make to much of a difference. Dog faeces, in my opinion, would help your lawn. I have a dog at home, and I mow over his faeces all the time. Those areas seem to actually grow a whole lot better then others.

I'm waiting until the weather warms up a bit to more my compost. But I was wondering, can I put used tea bags in there?

I am for the answer of not using it....I compost and have read things on NOT composting DOR OR CAT feces because of bacteria, etc in the feces that is harmful to humans.... I inclose a site the reads on about this.... Go to the site, click Home Page, Left hand margin there is Compost Ingredients......Go down to the capitol D and click on DOG FECES....................
