Jimmy what beauty you have there to enjoy! Wow I am so envious. I saw a picture of some beautiful baby blue hibiscus I book marked the page for next year ordering. Are the yellow hardy? I want some but am thinking those may be the tropical type. I have a beautiful coral one on the front porch, but its tropical. Is the orange one pictured there a tropical? I have been scanning my tropical for seeds but no luck yet.

Thanks Triss and Karrie for the kind words. Karrie the Carolina Breeze is Tropical , The Manhots are supposed to be hardy to Zone 7 if I remember right. I will have some seeds later of the Manhot if you would care for some. These plants are 4 ft. tall and as you can see are so bloom heavy the plant is bending. You most likely wont get any seeds off your Tropical. They take longer growing seasons then you have in Indiana. Or We have in North Texas. Mine have never made seed pods and this one is about 3 years old. Jimmy

I would love seeds Jimmy! Thank you! I love orange and yellow flowers, they are by all means my favorite! I got quite a few seeds yesterday from he pink and white. This is my first time planting hibiscus, do you have any advice or suggestions for planting the seeds? I am clueless as to plant them spring or fall. I spent most of yesterday looking for information on them. I had never seen yellow until a few days ago saw some on google search, figured they were tropical also saw some beautiful blue ones, still trying to figure out if they are tropical or hardy. These were my husbands grandfathers favorite flowers. Also the last thing he got to plant before he passed away. I am so happy he got to see them bloom before he passed away. Mine are seeds from his plants. I hope to establish them well and maybe some day my kids will plant their seeds as well!

The miniature yellow and red snapdragons are starting to bloom woohoo. It's a little early for them but I'm glad they are trying. I wonder if I should fertilize for more blooms or wait until it is actually fall? Do you have any thoughts on the subject.

usa all you have to do is go to the picture that you want to post and right click on it and go to properties. and box will pop up and it'll have a all kinds of things. it will say protocol, type, address (url),size, dimensions. you'll see an address beside the part that says address(url). you want to copy that address and then come back and click on the full reply form button and then a page will load and then there'll be a little button at the bottom of the little white box that you type in that says image. you'll want to click on that image button and then a little box will come up in the upper left corner of your screen. there'll be a white box that you can type in. it'll already say something like http:// you'll wanna delete that and paste the link that you copied and hit ok. then type what you want to type after that window has entered the little code and then post it and it'll be there! sorry if this was to confusing (I'm not very good at explaining things...I hate to be with the person to show them lol) if you don't understand something then ask and somebody might be able to help you better :-) and welcome to the forum!

and Ms. Jamie , that was a wonderful explanation, I'm still trying to get squared away with posting pics. I have found out that webshots does NOT allow you to post them on this site and imagestation does not work well with my computer and now I will try photobucket...............here goes,
Love your lantana too. My mom used to ahve that all around the pool in CA. Does it overwinter well or will you start from seed. I may have to add some of that to next years garden. The purple lantana is so pretty too.

webshots doesn't work on here? hmmmm that's strange....I thought somebody on here used that site to post pics on here? photobucket is REALLY easy to use :-) looks great!

MissJamie, webshots is funny like that.. they let you put your photos there & share them, but a direct link to a picture is a no no. They don't let it go thru, just like yahoo (another I used to use a lot before they did that.) Thank goodness for photobucket.

Triss, it's supposed to be an annual here in zone 6. It's hard to find seed on it - at least I haven't been able to catch any 'berries' yet. I saw one forming, but that was the last time I saw anything resembling that berry. The plan is to mulch well and cross my fingers! I never saw a purple one - bet those are gorgeous!
