Since I was given a pot of Martha Washington Geraniums, I've told everybody what I read in every place I clicked on the web - she doesn't make flowers in warm weather, they said. It has to be very cool.
Well, obviously Martha doesn't read - I have 2 blooms on the one that's in a big pot by the table garden and 2 on the few that I put in a patch on the front lot.
And cool? Whew! We're still hot and muggy, even though Environment Canada claimed we would get a couple of cooler days.
We are getting a piddle of the promised rain at this moment - don't know how long it will last.
Heh! Heh!
I'm mighty glad to see 'em too.

Carly, I know how you feel. We only got a couple of drops today. It hasn't rained here in over two weeks. The lawns are suffering. Congrats on your blooming geranium.

Carly, The Ozone layer has a lot to answer for. I bought Wind Anemonies for a late show in the garden 4yrs ago, hey presto they are giving me a beautiful array of lovely mauve-pink blooms right now?. We have had plenty of rain, really heavy, guess what we have a hose pipe ban, apparently because it is heavy rain it does not count DAH.

Oh, well nobody placed any watering bans on us yet - other parts of Toronto have had rain. We got one light storm about 10 days ago - it lasted about 5 minutes. Ha!
I don't want the kind of thing that causes a lot of damage, but I'd like some thunder and lightning - the kind that makes the plants dig their feet in deeper. That's why they look so good after a storm.
