I just wanted to say hello to everyone. [wayey] I just became a new member yesterday. This site is very informative an full of great people with excellent ideas. A little about myself..
I live in Phoenix, AZ and I am brand new to gardening. I am starting out with 5 indoor plants all just purchased at the beginning of March. [Wink] If those succeed I will eventually move outside..However, it is really hot here so I will need some hardy plants. Cactus anyone? [Wink]
Anyway I look forward to chatting with you all. [Love]

Hi Minnycourt!!! [wayey]
We are very glad you found us!!!
Welcome to The Garden Helpers Forum!

It's good to know you like gardening and are willing to take it slowly, it's hard sometimes to dive in soooooo much, so fast!!!
And you don't get as much disappointed if your thumbs don't do as well as you imagined...

Take it slow, Love your plants lot's! [Cool] [Love]
And read up on alot of the old posts we have here.
Get your self some gardening catalog's and read, and read, and read!!! That helps so much..
(If you don't like to read, find some with great pictures and immediate info like on graphs', or something) You can learn alot from reading...
Hands on is good too though!!

Jillie and JC (*aka Hollywood) do alot of container gardening and they live in Calif.
So, it gets pretty hot and they've had wonderful luck!!! They've got a Web~Shot's thing on some of their posts, that show all of their plants in pots and all of their garden whimsy!! May give you some ideas...
Papito's in Calif too, and he does alot of container gardening too!
And Catlover Karen is into Cactus's so, you've got a crew of people here that can give you a hand!!!

Glad you're here, jump right on it, go to our newer sections with Crafts, Hobbies and Recipes...
add a few of your own interests if you don't see one already posted!!!

Weezie

I have a niece that lives in Arizona.
I still can't remember where she lives, I've emailed her to find out, but she's not on it much.

Weezie thanks for all the great advice. I do love reading and I have been doing allot on the internet. I read for several weeks about the kinds of house plants that I should start out with and I think it helped because the ones I purchased are still alive. One month and counting. [thumb]
I just purchased a water meter last weekend. I needed something to tell me when to water. I tried sticking my finger in the soil, but since I am new at this I wasn’t too sure how wet or dry each plant should be. [dunno] I have learned from my reading that over or under watering is the fastest way to kill your plants.

Well I am going to go read some of old post and search for some great pictures on container plants.
