I don't know if this was already discussed here, but I was wondering if anyone collects things. I have been collecting hummingbird items for a few years now, and also have a small catstuff collection .
I've posted some pictures of cat things that I've collected so far. If you'd like to take a look, here is a link:
I'd love to see pictures of your collections - vicarious thrills, you know!

Ohhhhh plants 'n pots now I am really jealous!!!!! Love it, love it, love it!
I love the idea of putting the metal kitties up against the frig....gotta steal that clever idea!!!
How on earth do you keep your cats out of the potpourri(sp)? If that were here they would be chasing it all over the house!lol
Putting a real nest with marbles what a fantastic idea! You have given this cat collector more ideas....watch out! My kids are going to kill me! To bad MY house!lol Besides collecting real cats and cat stuff I started collecting old pee pee pots. They are hiding up high in my laundry room!lol At least if I go totally broke paying for all the new cactus/succulents I'm getting.....I will have a pot to pee in!!!!! Okay that was really bad I know!
Keep sending pix of any new kitty collections....so I can swipe your ideas! Jealous catlover

shot glasses and elephants are my thing. I have shot glasses from about 8 different countries, 40 states, and countless restaurants, amusement parks, etc... I collect single shots of all kinds and double shots from the Hard Rock restaurants. I have Chicago, London, Atlanta, and Hong Kong.
My elephant collection is a bit smaller and more eclectic. They are mostly gifts and/or things that have caught my eye.

Gravy boats and miniatures. I had a collection of about 50 gravy boats before moving from the high desert. They used to line all my window sills and plate rails. I'd go on "gravy boat" missions to second-hand stores & yard sales. When I finally moved, I had my own yard sale & sold about 3/4 of 'em. I only have about 10, now. They occupy a shelf above the stove. My favorite is one shaped like a little cottage with a matching brick-patterened saucer.

Ah, Weez, being a mostly-Irish girl, I collect faeries, too! Queen Mab is my fav. I have one in bronze and one in pewter. I used to collect pewter & ceramic dragons & even named my old rubberstamp company (back in the early eighties) Dragonwerks, Ltd. Talk about total immersion! Still have a few of those dragons hanging around.....

There's alot more info out there about it... That's just one. But its so cute of an idea...

Do you still do rubberstamping??? I think that's a neat idea too. I haven't done any crafts (or crap's as my husband calls it! ) in such a long time. With the boys, and my mom and activities, I just don't do it, or have the space, that the boys wouldn't be getting into.

Ohmigosh, Weez, what a great site! I'm bookmarking that one so I can go back after work, tonite. Thanks!!! I used to really be into rubberstamping, mailart & stuff. The conventions were a hoot. So many artists all together showing their stuff & trading. I still have some 20-year-old stamps & embossing powders & ink pads down in the garage. My granddaughter used to love to haul them out & be totally occupied on rainy days.

Catlover - too funny "I will have a pot to pee in!!!!!"
My cats don't go near my potpourri and I have lots of it around. I started making my own from any roses I got in flower arrangements. My latest is potpourri for my cousin's daughter. I took home one of the centerpieces from her wedding and let it completely dry out. The colors of the flower petals are really pretty and I've scented it with her favorite scent. I just hope the colors stay.
Jiffymouse... when I was in college I collected pink elephant things. Still have some back at my parents' house. My fried who collects koalas and teapots also collects shotglasses ever since they put a bar in their basement. If you ever hear of one with a koala on it could you let me know? Thanks! My kids collect the pins from Hard Rock Cafes.
Jillie... I never imagined there was that much variety in gravy boats. I have my great aunt's old silver one - will have to start noticing other styles now...
Weezie... My daughter also has some of the pewter fairies and mystical stuff. I love those too, and found a great vendor at our village's street fairs the past few summers. My 2 favorite pieces are my daughter's that spells out the word "FANTASY" and has all kinds of little creatures perched on the letters, and the dreamcatcher with sparkly stones that I treated myself to.
I started a collection of toads for a new garden at the end of summer. The wartier, the better!
Aside from that, I've taken up collecting dust bunnies - easy and free of charge!

Lynne, One of my shot glasses has a koala on it. It is from Australia. My hubby got it when the ship he was stationed on docked in western Australia. So, if you know anyone there, or going there, you might have a source!

Hey, have you ever gone to a TOADGA party? My son went to one last year and wore a red sheet. He said he was the devil - little does he know how correct that was - LOL! He said no one wore white sheets surprisingly.

Yesterday I was in the petstore and had to make tags for my kittie's collars. They had a machine where you do-it-yourself, and each tag costs 2 TOADKENS.

Do you like to eat TOADFU ? I don't care for it much. Last summer we went to a BBQ, and a yoga teacher friend of my husband brought TOADFU HOTDOGS!!! By the time they were cooked, she was feeling very happy after having had a few beers and kept referring to them as
HO-TUs
I still tease her about it...
