On July 11, 2004, at 4:59 PM (pacific time) we all welcomed 3000th new member! *It took 279 days to get our first thousand members... *It took 246 days to get our next thousand members.... *It only took 130 days to get our next thousand members... There was a lot of speculation as to when our 4000th member would join our family... even a few bets... that Gardenmom won at 9:34 AM on November 08, 2004(I think she fixed it somehow.... )
So when will we greet our 5000th member? I don't know... do you? What I do know is that whoever guesses closest to the day we hit that landmark will get a package from me that is guaranteed to make you smile! I don't have any specific prizes in mind... it won't be of great monetary value... but I promise that the winner will smile!
In the interest of fairness I have edited the rules below to allow for more than one person to select a certain day. If you have already chosen a date, please edit your post and add the time to your guess!
Only one guess per member.
You must specify the exact hour and minute on the chosen date. The "official" time for this contest will be based on "Pacific time".
Last date for guesses will be November 30, 2004
Winner will be determined by the minute our 5000th member joins. The closest guess to that time wins. In the event of a tie, I will provide two prize packages.
The administration has the right to deny any members participation.
All members (including our hostesses) are eligible to make a guess (except me!)

I'd said Feb 14th before so I'm gonna add a time of 10:14am. For winning is the time component need to be dead on or is it the closest one without going over?

i think it is just the closest, without regard to going over... ie. if you said 12:30 and i said 12:45 and it was 12:42, i'd still win. at least that is how i think it is supposed to work.

You are correct Jiffy! The winner will be determined by the person who's guess is the closest, regardless of whether their guess was before or after the winning time...
