We've had incredible weather in So. Cal. these past few days...Our "wild hillside" has burst into bloom and all the succulents have finally dried out after the relentless rain...Ah...Spring!

Jillie - got any pictures of your "wild hillside" in bloom? Would love to see it!
Weezie - I STILL can't convince my almost 21 year old son that mothers know best. He was home for 5 days this week during spring break, and got a parking ticket for parking in front of our house overnight. (I don't remember the exact dates that we are not allowed to park there - but I think it's April sometime) He INSISTS that winter is over and that it was ridiculous for them to have ticketed him!!! Of course that was the night that we got the surprise snowstorm for 3 hours, and even though nothing stuck to the roads, they did come around with the sanding trucks...

Well, it was a beautiful morning!! Really felt spring like sorta! But, came back in and turned on the morning news. There's a storm headed this way, up towards the Canadian border it's expected 1~3", in the middle (Buffalo area) 3~6", and in the Southern tier (my area) 6~12" of snow!!!! Well, so much for spring!! I know it's coming though!!!! Just a little bit later than everyone else!!! *the boys are excited to get another dumping for sledding though* It's supposed to come in Tuesday night and in to Wednesday morning... I guess all along the upper states are getting it too, like Nebraska, Min, Mich, N.Y... Well, I'm optimistic, I know it'll be here!!

The weather has been beautiful here for the past couple of weeks. Its been in the high 70s, low 80s (one day was in the 90s, bit too hot for me for this time of year). Blue skies, light breeze, just a perfect time of year. I spent yesterday in the yard mowing the lawn, weeding, checking out all the new growth. I think I'm going to put a new bed in the front yard to add some curb appeal. Its too nice to not be outside. Spring has sprung in Ca., daffodils and tulips everywhere!!

I heard 2-4 inches here tomorrow afternoon Weezie! And another 1-3 tomorrow night.
UNCLE!!!
I give up!!! My pansies are blooming, and the bulbs wanna come out and say hi.
I saw a bad accident on the thruway today - 3 young boys - fortunately none hurt, but at least 1 of the 2 cars was totalled - went through the guard rail to the other side of the road. The other car was smashed up against the rocks on the right side of the road. I think this was due to Spring Fever - lots of cops, fire engines, and ambulances blasting sirens all day here today. WHAT WE DO NOT NEED is more BAD WEATHER to make matters worse!

They up'ed the levels to up to 14" in the Southern tier now, but, I think I'm high enough *I'm Northern Southern Tier* so, maybe just 10". We'll see!!!!!!

Its supposed to flurry or something tomorrow morning and then a wintery mix on Sunday, which is NOT good since I have to go Lancaster that day.

Today is NOT promising here. They are telling us that we are supposed to get 6-8 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. They said it wouldn't start until 11:00, but we were at Denny's at 9:30 and it had just started to snow. The cats are getting restless....I'M getting restless. Today market was crazy...everyone is scared of the snow. They so much as mention the word in the weather forcast and all of the stores are instantly sold out of eggs, milk, and bread (why would everyone make french toast when it snows???? ) So all day today I was dealing with panic-y people...and I'm TIRED!!!!

Weather here has been nice, hazy mornings, clearing to mid 70's by afternoon. Called my cousin who moved from here to Connecticut a year ago, she asked me if we were outside at the time of the call. "Of Course!" I answered. She said, and I quote: "If you love me, please don't tell me about the weather, please don't say anything." so I didn't. But I'm not always so nice; in the past I have called just to tell her I was drinking a Jamba Juice in the drive through of In-N-Out with the windows all down and the radio up. Judith: where 'bouts in LA is your daughter? It is as you say, "a big place".

So Californians, isn't this weather great after all that rain??? I feel like I'm just back from exile. I took three days off this week for a "stay-at-home-and Spring-clean vacation" & I'm out as soon as the sun comes up. Man, is it ever good to play in the dirt. Potted tulips are going to open all the way this weekend...potted iris' are showing themselves, hostas are sprouty, potted artichoke is getting BIG, and all is right with the world. Ahhhhh, Spring! Snowfolks, your time is coming soon...hang in there.

Jiff, I think your weather's heading up my way by the weekend!! It's suppoesed to be a whole 50*'s and then some!!! I love the nice weather to come, but also dislike it because it's still got snow in it's system, and the poor flowers are out and and the cold weather nips then, (snow's not bad, it insulates it, but the freezing temp's squwish the flowers, don't hurt the bulbs for next year, but only this years flowers.)
It's 32*'s this morning!! Heat wave again!
Weezie Sunny this weekend though Weezie

Just came home from standing outside in 20F!!! for AN HOUR!!!
My daughter's grade is off to Washington D.C. for 3 days. We had to be at the bus at school at 6:00a.m., but 5 out of the 6 "luxury" buses got LOST!!! And did not show up until 6:50!!! Then all the loading of luggage and kids - they didn't leave until 7:10... and NONE of us was dressed for this 20 degrees - BRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
Well... after I thaw out some, I'm off for my own 3 day retreat to a cousin's in Connecticut. They have a wonderful house on 5 acres with a large pond - it's heavenly up there!
Talk to you all when I get back!

The snow is almost all melted here, birdies are out driving our kitties nuts. I left the front door open a little so the kitties can sit at the screen door and enjoy themselves. The baby cat doesn't know what to make of it. So anyways, I'm going outside!!! Toodles!
