Oh, sorry! I used to live further south (Orange, Texas) and we got lots of hurricanes. Now, where I live, we get rains from them some but we have more hail & tornadoes now (and snow in the winter). I hope it doesn't get you too bad & I hope your pineapples pull through.

No hurricanes here....well, none that really need to be mentioned. We get whats left of them after they come pu the coast and get tired. Although, we're going down to N.C. just in time to see Charly face to face! We don't normally get tornatoes here either...although this year was a weird year...there were 4 or 5 in the "tri-state region"(Pa, NJ, MD). We get snow too....but usually nothing to worry about...maybe 8-10 inches, but nothing to stop you from going anywhere (of course in '96 we had 3 1/2 feet!). Don't normally get hail, don't get many earthquakes (there are a few rumbles every couple of years or so)...I can't think of any other natural disasters that can happen...we live in a REALLY boring place!!!

Well we are still here. Have not yet decided to go to Mother's house or not. It will depend upon which county it comes ashore. Next county down and we will stay here. If it comes up Tampabay we are gone.
It is not the winds...its the tidal surge. One county down and it blows the water out of the bay. This county it blows the water into the bay.
As far as winds This house was build to withstand a catagory 3. Plus last year I put on a seamless metel roof rated 178 mph. New windows rated 130 mph, and new siding rated 188 mph over the cememt fill block walls of this house. It just this damnable surge I could do nothing against.

Glad to hear you're OK Raye. What a beautiful sunset you had!
A large squall line is hitting us now,the winds are only 30-35 miles per hour. They are still saying we will have 70 mph winds by midnight. When it gets too crazy I'm shutting this off!
Heres to the wild ride we have ahead of us tonight!

I was just going over your member list for Florida,Weezie. I'm not sure where in Fla. erak and Flamona are. After checking maps, etc., the only one I know that was severely affected by Charlie is Ravensrun65. Raven was in the direct path of the eye. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Raven?
Nice shots Raye.I did wonder about ya when veiwing pics on CNN this morning.Lots of devastion down that way.Glad ya got safe rooms built.I'd probably add a set of scuba tanks with extra air though...for safe measure.
