Every time I want to look at someone's webshots, I have to try to remember what post I saw the link in. So, thought I'd start this for webshots and other online albums, so even if this thread gets buried, all we have to do is type "webshots" in the forum search and it'll pop right up!
I saw a plant in someone's webshot album last week that is one of my mystery plants, and now I can't find it!
we did have a post going for a while with everyone's garden pics on it, but it got lost in the aging process, so this is a good way to start it again... thanks cindy

edit: well... I just found out that I can only add 5 pictures per day on the free webshots site! This will take much longer than I thought to update! Sorry...

If you download the software, you can add as many pictures as you want to, all at once The software does have an annoying lil tray icon that shows up every time you turn on the computer though. Make sure you set it so it doesn't automatically change your desktop wallpaper, or screen saver if you don't want it to do that.

Phoebe, up until my recent puter crash, webshots was my wallpaper/screensaver of choice. I'd fill it up with my own photos of things I'd either take pics of, or of stuff I'd find on the net. I liked how it would rotate daily, or every couple hours, depending on how you'd set it. I guess I need to go get it again.. either that, or see if it's a program Steve saved on cd for me before we got wiped out.

Can anyone help me? I have my pictures at Picturetrail. I can have 500 pictures or 50MB. I have already run out of space with only 46 pictures. How can I small them down?

I am going to guess that you have Windows for your Operating system. In windows, you have Paint, which is under your start button.. "Programs" then "accessories" then "Paint". With paint, you can view your photo, and in there is a tool that says "stretch/skew", go to that, and keep your percentanges the same on vertical & horizontal, either 50% or 75%, whatever size you feel is better. Don't bother with the skew, it'll make it funny shaped. If you need more help.. just ask.

If you need to just lower the file size and keep the same picture size, there is a killer tool I have (free) that is SUPER! It's called JPG Batch File Converter. It also changes gifs, bitmaps, etc. to jpg for you with a click of a button. I use it MANY times a day. I'll find the link and put it here.

Cindy, is that easy to use? I downloaded Irifan and couldn't figure out what to do with it. Couldn't even get my pictures on it to work with. I don't have much computer sense. A lot of people would say I don't have much sense at all.

Well... I don't know what's going on... but it HAS been one of those days... anywho... ALL of my pictures are up now if anyone would like to see them.

I don't know if I need to just make the file smaller or the picture smaller. All I know is that I can have up to 500 pictures or 50MB's and I have less than 50 pictures but I'm full up. What should I do?
I had those planted when I first moved in my house.. I bought them already bloomed.. just planted em. The only time I ever had flowers. Of course, they were gone after a year. *sigh* And I had no idea about making a proper flower bed and weed control either.

Did you put sand under your stones to make them stable and level? I'm getting ready to put a small walkway in my flower garden and I had thought about just putting the stones down without anything under them but my husband thinks we should "prepare the dirt."

Bestofour, I didn't put sand under them, just dug a hole to make them level with the ground. So far, that has worked fine...only one or two have tipped, and jumping up and down on them has fixed them right up!
Like that rose, huh? Isn't it the BEST purple you have ever seen???

I dug down and took a lot of pains putting these stones in the ground. They are just a hair above the soil, so you can walk on them easy and take the lawnmower right over them. I have a path of stones in the bird garden leading to the bird bath. They are just laying on the ground, and are very hard to walk on!

I agree, setting stones into the grond is a pain, but in the end, it is worth the effort.
I put the stones and 'blue star creeper' there because when we got the house, that area was just dirt, and it is at the base of the steps out the back door. My dog was walking thru the mud/dirt 400 times a day to go out to go potty, and then back inside...it got old fast. The stones and plants have been a great solution...and it feels so cool to walk on the plants with bare feet!
