In starting my gardens, I have had to sift dirt as our land is clay, loam, gravel and ROCKS. Nothing but weeds and trees can grow on this land as it is now. I began sifting dirt over a month ago, and now I am at it again as I am expanding the garden. In the smaller garden besides the sifted dirt, I have added over 30 (30litre) bags of top soil and 3mix; now I will have to purchase more. BUT, you know what, other than my body being annoyed I am enjoying everything I am doing. Right now this is a fall garden; I have planted perennials and icicle pansies and will do bulbs in a short while. I never realized that we here in Ontario could plant so late in the season IT IS GREAT! I have planted Hollyhocks, Asters, Mums, Lavender, Phlox, Hibiscus, Butterfly Bushes, Creeping Rose bushes,Pinks, and many more plants that I can not tell you the name of at the moment. I look forward to seeing how it looks next spring. I also added B.C. Red Cedar Bark as a mulch and weed controller; it makes the garden look even greater. However, I have been told that only acid loving plants should have this near them. Do any of you have an idea of which plants would not like it? I have also got Rhubarb, Italian oregeno, parsley, Sage, and Lemon Mint planted. I hope you do not mind me bending your eyes so long. IN LOVE AND LIGHT Pinky

Nice to meet you!
