I am not what you would call a gardener. I have been accused of killing plants just by being in the same room with them. However, I love them and keep trying to find something I cannot kill. I found this site by searching for help for a rubber tree (I think) that is not doing well, despite the fact I am not allowed to touch it. I have lots of questions that I will post in the appropriate place but just so you know, I am clueless when it comes to gardening. Basically, if it doesn't bark, meow, or in anyother way let me know it needs care, i forget to take care of it.

Hmmm...you sound like my mom! I can give her the most low-maintenance plant there is, and she ends up calling me up to "Come back and get it because I've almost KILLED it!!!"
Stick around here and you'll be growing so much stuff pretty soon that you won't know what to do with all of it!
Nice to meet you! Welcome!
Cindy

My mother is the gardener in my family. She can grow anything. She has this philodrendrium (sp?) forever and when I moved out into my first apartment she gave me a clipping , potted and all. I decided to put it on the balconey one day to give it fresh air and some sun and it jumped 2 stories to its death rather than live with me. She won't give me anymore plants.

Welcome to the site! I seem to kill almost everything, too! I've even killed aloe vera (many of them). But, have done great with my elephant ears & canna lilies My poor little zinnia is coming along but I'm afraid I'll kill it before next year I keep trying & trying, myself. This site is addictive & there are wonderful people & lots of great information.
