I love this place. I'm about a month old here, but have not had time to introduce myself. Been seriously gardening in different environments since 1991 (that is when I started keeping notes). Grow mostly from seed and am pretty good at getting them started, so maybe I can help someone on this subject.

I grow mostly veggies and herbs. Except this year I found cosmos seeds at the local Family Dollar store and planted them. Boy, they really love New Mexico. No flowers yet, but lots of beautiful delicate greenery and buds. Some were started inside and transplanted and most of the seed I scattered outside just popped up!!

My main love is the seed collecting. Have always collected the dry seed (from dried flower buds), but am collected wet seed this year from my Heirloom Toms. Am looking forward to discussing wet seed collecting techniques.
Glad this board is here,
Blessings,
Diana

Welcome to the site! I'm very new at gardening but I'm going to try collecting some seeds this year from some of the things I have in the yard. You've been here for a month, so you know how nice everyone is. [flower]

So glad to learn a little about you! A belated welcome for you!

I also love cosmos, they are one of my absolute favorite flowers, I have quite a few going right now....tall and feathery some with flower, some without.......They are fantasticly easy to grow, and tolerate poor conditions which is a plus!

Hope that you get the chance to come here often.....

I've never heard of that and I would love to hear more. I try and collect as many seeds as I can from my garden(friends gardens too!)

See you soon!
