First I want to say that from the postings that I have read so far, The Gardener's Forum looks like it's going to be one of my new homes away from home!!! Everyone seems so warm, helpful and friendly!
My name says it all...I'm FlowerCrazy...actually, my name is Therese and I'm commonly known on the web and off as NiteOwl. The name NiteOwl comes honestly, before I ever began working nights I would stay up all night long cleaning, watching tv and just general goofing off. It used to drive my parents absolutely nuts, now it drives my husband nuts..LOL.
I'm a Deputy Sheriff, a mother and grandmother (just ask me about my grandkids)and I'll take playing outside over house cleaning any time!! My husband and I just bought our home just about a year and half ago. We bought it more for the yard than the house. We have almost 3 acres and it's all raised brick flowerbeds, islands and lawn.
I have peach, pear, plum, fig and apple trees. Grape, muscadine, and kiwi vines. I have blueberry bushes. Only 2 of my flowerbeds were established so I've been waging war on weeds in the other 17.
I love all kinds of flowers, but I think that my very favorite is my Angel Trumpets. I don't have that many different varieties, but I'm working on getting more. I love them so much I even created a web site for them...LOL.
Now that I've written this novel about myself, let me say once again.... Thanks for a new home away from home.

Flowercrazy Glad you found us. Bet you can give us some funny stories about your field of work. Maybe later you can post some of them in the Banter area. Took a quick peak at your website. WOW Want to go back and read more. You peaked my interest with the owl. Thought at first you were someone from around here that is into owls. Had to go back and see where you were from. Not what I expected. The music in there is great!!!! You spent a long time setting that site up and must tell you it looks terrific. Yep we have a great bunch here! I am a newbie gardener and have learned soo much already. Just wait I will be picking your brain as well. Will be waiting for some of those stories of yours. Catlover

My kiwi produce excellently CatLover. They are not the type that you find in the store however. Mine are the Actinidia arguta kiwi. They are alot sweeter than the kind you buy in the store and alot smaller, just a little bit bigger than a large grape...
I've been searching for recipes to make jelly or preserves from them...guess I'm going to have to improvise. It's too late this year to make it so I guess I have plenty of time to get my act together.
